DY Piston Ring Introduction

Definition

Definition

The piston ring is a metal elastic ring with a large outward expansion deformation, which is assembled into the corresponding annular groove of the section. The reciprocating and rotating piston rings rely on the pressure difference of gas or liquid to form a seal between the outer circular surface of the ring, the cylinder, one side of the ring and the ring groove.

Scope of Application

Scope of Application

Piston rings are widely used in various power machinery, such as gasoline engines, diesel engines, air compressors, hydraulic equipment, etc. Generally, the piston ring is installed in the ring groove of the piston, and it forms a chamber with the piston, cylinder liner, cylinder head and other components to do work.

Function and Roles

The function of piston rings includes sealing, regulating oil (oil control), heat conduction (heat transfer), guidance (support) four roles. Sealing: refers to sealing gas, do not let the combustion chamber gas leakage to the crankcase, the gas leakage is controlled at a minimum, improve thermal efficiency. Gas leakage will not only make the power of the engine drop, but also make the oil deteriorate, which is the main task of the gas ring; Regulating oil (oil control): Scrape off the excess lubricating oil on the cylinder wall, and at the same time make a thin oil film on the cylinder wall to ensure the normal lubrication of the cylinder, piston and ring. In modern high-speed engines, special attention is paid to the role of the piston ring in controlling the oil film; Heat conduction: The heat of the piston is transferred to the cylinder liner through the piston ring, which plays a cooling role. According to reliable data, 70-80% of the heat received by the piston top is dissipated through the piston ring to the cylinder wall; Support: The piston ring keeps the piston in the cylinder, prevents the direct contact between the piston and the cylinder wall, ensures smooth movement of the piston, reduces frictional resistance, and prevents the piston from knocking the cylinder.

Piston rings are metallic split rings that are attached to the outer diameter of a piston in an internal combustion engine or steam engine. They form a seal between the piston and cylinder wall, which prevents pressurized combustion gases from entering the oil sump and regulate oil consumption by preventing excessive oil from entering the combustion chamber and burning.

DY Product Type

Piston Ring Mark

GB/T 1149.1-94 stipulates that all piston rings that require installation directions should be marked on the upper side, that is, the side close to the combustion chamber. The rings marked on the upper side include: Taper-Faced Ring, Internal-bevel Ring, Stepped Ring, Napier Ring, Half-Keystone Ring and Oil Ring in the required installation direction. The upper side of our ring is marked with "DY", "NDY", "DA", "3N" and "D".

Powered by strong technical development and continuous innovation ability, DY PISTON RING ranks among the leading brands.
